Hair, tail and skull morphologies are  similar to those of the specimen from the type locality (Langbian Peaks, Da Lat, Vietnam). The P-distance of Cyt b between the population in China and the topotypes is only 5.3%. These two samples are identified as Chiromyscus langbianis based on morphological and phylogenetical analyses. This is the first record of C. langbianis in Yunnan Province. The habitat of collection is evergreen broad-leaf forest.
